Writer, podcaster and author Meghan Daum contacted me about launching and marketing her private online community, The Unspeakeasy.

The Unspeakeasy community seeks to foster good-faith political and cultural discussion between intellectually curious women. The product offerings include in-person retreats, online community and writing courses (with more offerings coming soon!)

The inspiration for the community was the idea of a 1920s speakeasy. In this version, however, women can freely discuss politics and culture in a judgment-free zone that encourages intellectual diversity, difference of opinion and genuine curiosity.

Services I offered:

  • Added segmentation for precise marketing campaigns.

  • Ran targeted social media ads to grow the marketing list and improve awareness.

  • Oversaw the rebrand.

  • Automated financial and marketing operations.

The results:

  • I grew the email marketing list by 86%.

  • To date, sold over $70,000 in high-ticket retreats for the 2024 season.

  • Sold over $45,000 in memberships in the first year of operation.
